We had another great week of learning in Kindergarten. Read below to see what we have been learning each day!
Monday
We learned a new lively letter. Ask your child:
- What letter is this?
- What sound does it make?
- What are some words that begin with this letter?
Tuesday
In math, we began our work on shapes. We talked about the difference between 2D(flat) and 3D (not flat) shapes. We reviewed the names of common 2D shapes, such as circle, square, rectangle, and triangle. Ask your child if they can tell you how a square and a rectangle are different. We also talked about different things in the world that are shaped like our common shapes. We drew some common shapes and made them into pictures of real world objects that have that shape. Students also labeled each picture by trying to write the first letter of each word.

Wednesday
We continued our work on patterns by creating AAB and ABB patterns.
Thursday
We wrote in our journal about different places we see patterns in the world. Ask your child what they wrote!

Dates and Reminders
Dress for the Weather
While we do not go outdoors every day, please ensure that your child comes to school prepared with the proper clothing for the weather. This allows us the choice to go outdoors when we have time. During winter, students should be wearing snow boots, warm jackets, hats, and mittens or gloves each day. While students do not have to wear snow pants in and out of the building, it is nice to send them along in case we have a chance to go outside to play.
