Weekly Update: November 17th-20th

It was a great week of learning in Kindergarten! Here is what we learned this week!

Monday
We learned a new lively letter. Ask your child:

  • What letter is this?
  • What sound does it make?
  • What are some words that begin with this letter?

Tuesday
In math, we read a book called "Pattern Fish". Then we made our own pattern fish by coloring and ABC Pattern.

You can review this concept together by following this link below to watch a video about patterns we watched in class.

Wednesday
In our journal, we made a drawing of a moose and copied the sentence starter "My Moose is" to write something about our moose. Ask your child what they wrote!

Thursday
In Math, we continued our work on counting by counting sets and writing their matching numeral and by representing different quantities to 10 using ten frames. We also practiced counting with our counting collections again.

Zipper Challenge!
Students are doing a great job with the zipper challenge! If you haven't got it yet, don't give up. Keep practicing and trying at home. We will keep trying until you get it!

Dates and Reminders

Library Books
Students brought home their first library book this week! Books came home in a plastic bag. Please always return the books
INSIDE the plastic bag. This bag keeps books from getting damaged in backpacks from spills.
Students should aim to return their books before next Wednesday so that they are able to sign out a new book again next week.

AM Class will visit the library on Wednesdays and bring books home on Thursday

PM Class will visit the library AND bring books home on Thursday
