Weekly Update: September 15th-18th

It was another great week in Kindergarten! Read below to see what we have been learning about this week!

Monday
We learned a new lively letter. Ask your child:

  • What letter is this?
  • What sound does it make?
  • What are some words that begin with this letter?

We also got to go to the park for the first time as a class! Everyone was VERY excited!

Tuesday
In math, we continued working on sorting. We practiced another sorting rule, sorting by shape. Students worked with different materials to sort objects into groups based on their shape.

Wednesday
We drew a self-portrait, this time focusing just on our face. Students painted a colourful background with colors of their choice. These portraits will be hung in our classroom all year long and come home at the end of the year!

Thursday
We had our Terry Fox Run! We met our grade 3 buddies and walked with them around the field and got as many laps as we could. Ask your child how many laps they were able to do. Thank you to everyone who send in donations for the Terry Fox Foundation!

We also practiced our scissor skills by cutting out shapes to make a picture in our notebook.
