We had another fun week of learning in Kindergarten! Read below to see what we have been up to this week!
Tuesday
We learned a new lively letter! Our last "superstar vowel"! Ask your child:
- What letter is this?
- What sound does it make?
- What are some words that begin with this letter?
Wednesday
We continued our work on number concepts by working with the number 9. Students thought about different ways they could represent (show) the number 9. Ask your child to tell you or show you the different ways they can show the number 9!

Thursday
Today we wrote in our journal. Students looked at a picture prompt to help them think of their ideas and then they used the sentence starter "I see" to write sentences about the picture. Ask them what they wrote!

We also painted pieces of paper plates that will be used next week by the grade 3's to create a big dragon costume they will use to put on a Dragon Dance to celebrate Chinese New Year. They will come and visit our classroom next week to show us the dragon!
Friday
The afternoon class had a day full of science learning! We talked about the ways different things move and then we drew pictures of different things and wrote how they move. Ask your child what they drew!

We also learned that all objects need something called a "force" to move. A force can be a push or a pull. We sorted pictures of things that we push and things that we pulled. Ask your child if they can tell you some things that we can push and pull every day!
