We played a name game to start learning each others names. We also drew a picture of ourselves on the first day of school. We read a story called "Llama, Llama, Misses Mama".

Tuesday
We played our name game again and then we did an activity to practice our names. Students colored the first letter of their name and practiced writing or copying their name. Ask your child if they know the first letter in their name!

Wednesday
We read the story "Pete the Cat, Rockin' in My School Shoes". Then, in their journals, students drew a picture of something they like to do at school. Ask your child to tell you what they drew!
Thursday
We did another activity to practice our names. Student's cut apart the letters in their name, mixed them up and put them back into the right order. Then they glued them into their books and practiced writing the letters below.

Before starting, we learned the safety rules for scissors and how to hold scissors the right way. Ask your child if they can tell you some of the scissor rules!

No Parking in the Hug and Go
Please do not use the Hug and Go to drop off and pick up your child. This is a drop and go zone, and since you need to leave your car to meet your child, you are not able to park and leave your car here. Please give yourself enough time to get a spot on nearby side streets and walk your child from there. Thank you so much for helping us keep our Hug and Go moving smoothly!

Looking for a way to contribute the our classroom?? How about making us some Play-dough!!
I am going to try something new this year to keep a supply of playdough in our classroom. Its always a favorite! I am looking for a few families who would be willing to make a batch of playdough for our classroom.
